For 50 years, Decathlon's dream has been to make sport and wellbeing accessible to all. We believe that movement is a fundamental right. To bring this dream to life, we offer innovative, highly technical sporting solutions at accessible prices.

 

Our mission is powered by over a hundred thousand passionate teammates who bring people together in every corner of the globe. By sparking shared experiences, we help millions to build healthier lives and thriving communities, all while striving to reduce our impact on the planet, our shared playground. 

Our story

It all started in 1976 in Englos, Northern France. What began as an innovative self-service sports store has evolved into a global sports brand. Today, Decathlon operates an integrated business model, involved in every stage from design to distribution. From our first bikes to the millions of products produced and sold around the world today, our mission has always remained the same: to be where the players are.

Our industrial model

Decathlon works with over 1,200 suppliers across 45 countries and regions. Our teams are supported by a global network of more than 2,000 employees dedicated to production, who are regularly on the ground to ensure our suppliers follow our Code of Conduct.

How do we choose our suppliers?

Our Direct Purchasing Policy informs how we select our suppliers worldwide. In line with our values, we prioritise partners with the highest level of technical expertise who promote ethical and compliant practices, while working to reduce their environmental impact.

By fostering fair, transparent relationships and leveraging collaboration alongside data-driven decisions, we are able to deliver affordable, innovative products and support sustainable competitiveness.

At Decathlon, we know we can’t deliver affordable sports products on our own. Our success depends entirely on the strong relationships we build with our suppliers.

Across our global network, we rely on a group of 55 Industrial Partners* – companies that have grown alongside us and, most importantly, share our values.
