The Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) is pleased to announce the renewal and strengthening of its partnership with DECATHLON. A partner since 2022, the brand is reaching a historic milestone by becoming a Major Partner of the LFP for five additional seasons (2027-2032). In this capacity, DECATHLON will notably continue to supply the official match balls for Ligue 1 McDonald’s and Ligue 2 BKT.
The elevation of DECATHLON to the rank of Major Partner primarily confirms the supply of official match balls for all competitions. It is also accompanied by a strengthening of the collaboration with the LFP. DECATHLON will benefit from increased visibility, particularly during Ligue 1 McDonald's and Ligue 2 BKT matches as well as on the competitions' digital platforms.
The continuation of this collaboration also promotes "French-style football." The future official ball remains conceived and designed in the DECATHLON design center dedicated to team sports in Tourcoing, Northern France. This partnership is thus based on strong proximity, both geographical and human, making the French pitch a true innovation laboratory.
Designed to meet the requirements of high-level sport, this collaboration relies on DECATHLON's expertise and a co-design approach with the stakeholders of French professional football. DECATHLON is thus continuing the development of official balls for Ligue 1 McDonald’s and Ligue 2 BKT, by applying the expertise of professional players to the service of all footballers. DECATHLON ensures that every player has equipment at the peak of innovation, with no compromise on price.
This new cycle is also part of a sustainability initiative. DECATHLON and the LFP share a common ambition: to design more durable balls and limit their replacement. Through this approach, DECATHLON addresses environmental challenges without compromising on performance.
For its part, the LFP wishes to transform this collaboration into a lever for national and international influence. By capitalizing on the territorial reach of the DECATHLON network, this partnership aims to continue developing proximity with fans and football players, far beyond French borders.
